Elevator Smoke Door
Model Number: ERF10
The award winning SmokeShield Elevator® is an elevator smoke containment system that eliminates vertical migration of smoke and hot gases in a multi floor structure, all while offering limitless design freedom. It was selected as a top product of 2019 by Architectural Record Magazine in the Building Systems and Components category.
The patented GuideLock™ technology positively re-seals the hoistway after each curtain cycle, which is a critical distinction between this product and others. Occupant safety is greatly enhanced by high visibility through the curtain in addition to instructional graphics that are simple to follow in an emergency situation.
In addition to function, the SmokeShield Elevator may eliminate the IBC elevator and can be easily incorporated into any design. The guides can be concealed beneath wood, masonry or gypsum fascia materials, making it easy to blend in to the surrounding design elements. If the headbox, guides or bottom bar are exposed, they can be finished to match, compliment, or contrast their surroundings. We offer custom powder coating or a unique stainless matching guide anodization process.
SmokeShield Elevator’s headroom, backroom and sideroom requirements are some of the smallest on the market. The control box and battery backup are invisibly located within the headbox, and wiring requires only the alarm line and 115 volt power. Automatic reset and automatic re-open after the alarm is cleared plus 24 hour monitored battery backup are standard features for this modern life safety design.
The SmokeShield Elevator complies with IBC 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018 and is listed in ICC-ES Report AC – 77, UL 1784, ASTME 864 and OSHPD # OPM-0523-19.
